Career
Mahesh started out his movie career as a child actor in his father's films before turning professional at the age of 25 with the movie Rajakumarudu. A series of movies followed, Murari, Okkadu and Athadu being successful among them. His latest release Pokiri is the commercially most successful film of his career so far.
Mahesh's last movie Pokiri, directed by Puri Jagannadh was the biggest hit this year and is the biggest hit of the 75 year old Telugu film industry grossing more than 45 crores titled him "The Latest Superstar" after his father. [citation needed] Up next, Mahesh has signed Sainikudu directed by Gunasekhar, Athidhi directed by Surender Reddy and four more untitled films.

Gattamaneni Mahesh Babu
He is the son of Telugu actor Krishna and Indira Devi, born on August 9th 1974 in a small village Burrepalem near Tenali in Guntur District. He has one elder brother, Ramesh, two elder sisters, Padmavathi, Manjula and one younger sister Priyadarsini. He married Bollywood actress Namrata Shirodkar in February 2005. Mahesh Babu was schooled at Loyola College, Chennai and received a degree in Commerce. On August 31, 2006, Mahesh and Namrata's first son was born and named as Gautam Gattamaneni.
